AspenLaw Studydesk 3.0 Built to Meet Users' Wishlist

New York, NY (July 8, 2009) – Aspen Publishers has released Version 3.0 of AspenLaw Studydesk, a one-stop software solution for law school success that helps students organize their case briefs, class notes, statutes and more with easy-to-use templates and systematic filing tools; integrate Aspen Publishers’ eBook study aids; and save hours of study prep time with flashcard, quiz and outlining tools. Aspen Publishers is part of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, a leading provider of research products and software solutions in key specialty areas for legal and business professionals (www.aspenpublishers.com).

AspenLaw Studydesk 3.0 incorporates several enhancements that came directly from its users, including new word processing tools and keyboard shortcuts to help students work faster and more efficiently; an improved briefing template; improved self-assessment wizards; and the ability to export documents in native AspenLaw Studydesk file format for sharing in a study group.

Moreover, the new version is designed to be easier for new students to use out-of-the-box. The software is more focused and decluttered throughout, even though it adds helpful features. The interface is cleaner and easier to navigate with more user-friendly icons; rollover screen tips; and a new welcome screen that points to tips and tutorials.

“Users of AspenLaw Studydesk will find everything they like in Version 3.0. This new version was built for law students by law students. Students will find that creating and accessing information for class; utilizing digital eBook study aids as reference tools for learning and comprehension; and creating their own study tools to master course material has become more efficient,” said Jen Armstrong, director of marketing and strategic market development for Aspen Publishers.

Among other enhancements in Version 3.0:

  • In word processing, users can insert pictures and links, format bulleted or numbered lists with a keystroke, highlight text in multiple colors and spell-check as they type;
  • In the briefing template, students can now use a keyboard shortcut to jump from field to field, access customization options with a click and collapse unused fields to save space;
  • An improved flashcard wizard lets users make their own flashcards and export flashcard sets to Microsoft® Word for formatting;
  • An enhanced eBook reader lets students get more from their study aids, with the ability to jump to points in the text that are highlighted and annotated, to highlight text in multiple colors and to add sticky notes. In addition, the amount of text that can be copied and pasted has been expanded; and
  • A new update manager alerts students when software upgrades are available.
