Wolters Kluwer Portugal Signs Agreement With Portuguese Chamber of Solicitors

Lisbon (September 15, 2008) – Wolters Kluwer Portugal, a subsidiary of Wolters Kluwer Legal, Tax, and Regulatory Europe, signed an agreement with the Portuguese Chamber of Solicitors giving Portuguese solicitors free access to legal information from several countries through the online database JusNetSUMMA.

Developed by lawyers, JusNetSUMMA is the most complete online source for information on legislation and jurisprudence in the Portuguese market. JusNetSUMMA contains information on 120.000 laws in original and consolidated versions; 60.000 full text decisions; 4.000 bibliographic references; 1.800 forms and procedures, and more than 40.000 links connecting all these documents, allowing for quick and intuitive searches.

António Gomes da Cunha, President of the Chamber of Solicitors, commented that “access to online legal information has become an essential part of a solicitor’s work. A database represents a part of professional reality that is indispensable to the resolution of problems. It can provide quick access to important information, the meaning of jurisprudence and doctrinaire articles, that previously meant searching among hundreds of reference documents.”

Florbela Jorge, Editorial Director of Wolters Kluwer Portugal, stated that “through the promotion of information tools we hope to significantly reduce search time and facilitate the solicitor’s work."
